Madrid is moving forward with the construction of its largest retail park in El Cañaveral, a major project set to transform the southeast of the city. Spanning 77,000 m², the development will include over 50 stores, a wide range of leisure facilities, and 13 paddle tennis courts.
Backed by an investment of more than €100 million, the project will feature leading brands, large parking areas with over 2,000 spaces, and multiple zones dedicated to shopping, dining, sports, and entertainment. Construction has already begun, with the opening planned for the 2027 holiday season.
The new retail hub is expected to generate around 1,500 jobs and will serve a rapidly growing residential area, with nearby developments set to house up to 350,000 residents. Its strong connectivity, just 20 minutes from central Madrid and close to major highways and the airport, positions it as a key commercial and lifestyle destination for the future.
