Madrid has announced a major transformation of the long-abandoned Olympic Aquatic Center site into what the mayor describes as one of Europe’s largest leisure, education, and sports complexes.
The project will feature a 20,000-capacity concert hall aimed at attracting international events, a university campus for over 2,300 students, and a large sports center with indoor and outdoor facilities for up to 9,000 users. Located near the Metropolitano Stadium, the development is set to become a new hub for entertainment, education, and wellness.
Funded through private investment, the project will redevelop a 66,000 m² site and play a key role in reshaping the area, reinforcing Madrid’s position as a leading European destination for culture and lifestyle.
